The Mount Vernon/Skagit Tulip Festival doesn't officially begin for another week or so, but I found that at least a few fields were in bloom and it was a nice clear day, so I figured I'd take the chance. You can't count on a sunny weekend in Spring in Seattle, so take what you can get.

The drive was well worth it. Despite the haze and high light clouds, there were a number of beds in bloom and very little tourist problems. Light traffic, easy parking and no senior citizens in the way of the camera.

On the way home I explored the Priest Point area of the Tulalip reservation for some views of the mud flats and of Three Fingers and Whitehouse Mountain.
