The Iris holds a special place in my heart. My late Great Aunt was a passionate Iris grower in Walla Walla, in fact she was the Treasurer of the Walla Walla Iris Society for as long as I can remember. She always had the most beautiful, meticulously maintained garden of Iris flowers. It rubbed off on me in a big way. So everywhere I've lived, I've planted Iris flowers. Though quite common in Walla Walla (where it is the official flower), they're not so common here in the Seattle area. A few of my plants were given to me by my late Grandfather, which also have special importance to me.

They're especially vibrant this year, with a dryer Spring and brand new soil.
